Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - People Directorate

Dave recently supported our team event within the People Directorate at Sherwood Forest Hospitals, leading a session around ‘Coping with stress’ to approximately 80 delegates. This was our first ever event of this scale and the feedback we have received has been extremely positive. In a challenging NHS landscape Dave’s session has really helped our colleagues put things into perspective. His session allowed time for colleagues to reflect and provided practical solutions around time management to take forwards as well as supporting resources for colleagues to take away. I would recommend Dave for any team-building events, his inclusive approach and friendly attitude was well-received and a true inspiration!

Deborah Kearsley, Deputy Director of People.

Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth College

‘Dave supported our end of term online staff day this summer. Given the challenges of the last year we wanted to focus on supporting the wellbeing of our people and had a range of activities planned. Dave and his sprouts opened the event with a great large audience online session. This helped set a positive upbeat tone for the rest of the day and the follow-up resources provided by Dave have been greatly welcomed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dave and his ‘Are You Sweating the Right Sprouts?’ session as a brilliant conference or large audience online opener.’

‘Dave provided a number of ‘positive coping webinars’ for our doctoral students to support our wellbeing focus during these challenging times of restriction due to COVID19. Dave was professional, friendly and great to work with, and, amongst our delegate feedback, one comment stands out:

"I found the session extremely useful. I contacted him later that day to say so, and also to mention a specific stress-related issue I have, and to ask him if he had any pointers on that. His reply, giving his thoughts plus details of resources that could help me, was fantastically helpful. Dave is *really*, *REALLY* good at what he does. Not only that but his genuine desire to help people cope better shines through.”

Health Education England (Yorkshire & Humber)

Dave Algeo has delivered training in Resilience and Well-being to Paediatric trainees in the School of Paediatrics (Health Education England Yorkshire and Humber) since 2017.

Dave was approached and commissioned to deliver this training following positive feedback of similar training delivered at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. The training was organised to address stress and burnout amongst doctors in training and its links to patient outcomes. Some of the sessions have been attended by trainers as well.

Dave has brought his professional experience and expertise in designing, delivering and developing the course. He has worked closely with me as training programme director and I have been impressed by his foresight, flexibility and attention to detail. He is an engaging trainer who brings authenticity and enjoyment to the sessions.

The Surviving and Thriving programme is in its 4th year and has evaluated extremely well. During this time, around 200 doctors have benefited from the course. The course provides a range of insight, coping tools and strategies to support professionals in their day to day work, life and study, including a mindfulness session delivered by Rachael Garside of Tall Spaghetti.

Dave has used feedback to constantly develop and enhance the course to meet the needs of the trainees. The sessions have been interactive and some aspects are clinically focussed to ensure relevance to the workplace.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Dave with a view to incorporating resilience and wellbeing related learning into your development programmes.

The sessions were informative and fun, and left attendees with tools and tactics they can use to meet challenges positively and enhance their wellbeing, both in life and work. Since the sessions, I've overheard a few colleagues using the phrase "don’t sweat the sprouts!” It was great to have Dave deliver these sessions and contribute to our focus on the wellbeing of our colleagues.

Insure the Box Ltd

Mental Health Awareness Week 2018, is a great opportunity for us to raise awareness and give our people the chance to invest in their own self-care and development.  To that end, we asked Dave Algeo to deliver a number of short sessions in our London and Newcastle Offices on stress and resilience.  Dave’s style is perfect for dealing with a potentially difficult topic.  His use of down to earth tools and strategies, a touch of humour and some memorable metaphors - I won’t forget the cabbages and sprouts for a long time - created a powerful and positive impact for our people.  The feedback from attendees at his session has been fantastic and it was great to see so many people leaving his sessions smiling and talking positively about the subject.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Dave and his hones, down to earth humorous approach to add some real value, positivity and impact to your events.’
