- Not creative? Now, just a quick tip because many of us tell ourselves we're not creative in the least. And actually it's not true it's just that maybe we're out of the habit or we just need to fine-tune our creativity muscles. So here's just a quick exercise that I found very useful particularly in terms of coming up with ideas and writing. Just set yourselves 10 minutes aside everyday. Get a random book open it in a random page pick the top line on one of the pages that face you write it out and then continue in your own words to complete the story that that first sentence says and it can be a fact or a fiction book but the challenge is to turn it into a couple of paragraphs of a mini story. Now you'll find this a bit difficult at first but it's amazing how quickly your brain kicks in to creativity mode when you start to allow yourself to practise a bit. And the reason it's a random line in a random book is because it helps challenge any preconceived set scripts you already have and it's interesting to see what comes out. So practise creativity. Random book, random line, write it out then finish it off with a couple of paragraphs that tell a little story.
