Create a Hard Stop

daily sprout 455

A tip that seems quite counter-intuitive when it comes to productivity:

Todays' daily sprout  transcript:

Create a hard stop. Now, it is so tempting in life and in work to just keep working, to do one more thing, to just get that thing done, I'll just finish this. And the problem with that is, that the lines blur, that our work time starts to leak into our home time. Create some hard stops in your day and in your week and in your life. Some times where because of a commitment, an arrangement, a booking, a meeting, a personal commitment to somebody else, you have to stop. You have something that is non-negotiable, because is it a way of then forcing you to step away from whatever you need to do, and engage in something else. Those hard stops can be so important, so that you can create a rough framework around your work and your life.
