Productivity to combat procrastination

Eat the frog!
Continuing on the theme of procrastination, in today's daily sprout video I share a tip, inspired by a Mark Twain quote. It's also the title of a great little book (albeit dated) on time management by Brian Tracy. Now, although I enjoyed reading the book and found the tips useful, I acknowledge that the content looks dated and has been superseded by research and other books like 'Getting things Done' by David Allen (again, I'm not a total convert to GTD, but it provides some great food for thought). Getting back to the video - I share my thoughts on the quote and the tip behind the quote. It makes sense and can be a great way to remind yourself not to procrastinate on the stuff that really matters.

- Just eat the frog.

This quote gets to the
heart of procrastination.
Because let's be right, it
is like when we're setting
about some task that we
really don't wanna do,
it's like the thought of
eating a big, live, ugly frog.
And do you know what, one of
the key steps to overcoming
the urge to procrastinate is to spot it
but then to just do something,
to take one big bite
of that big ugly frog
and like the quote says,
you get one bite out of it
or you eat that whole frog,
the rest of the day,
nothing could be that bad.
You've achieved something,
made some progress.
