Don't over-plan

Productivity Tip

Today I want to share a though on productivity, i.e. getting stuff done towards your end goal, relies on planning.  But there's a limit.  Some of us focus on getting a perfect plan and either miss an opportunity or never get started in the first place.  The reality is though, that the plan is less important than the planning process and it's important to recognise that, having run through the planning process, it's time to get moving - the plan itself will evolve on the move.

Keep an eye out for the next blog.

- Don't over plan.

Now this might contradict
previous Daily Sprouts where

I said make a plan but
making a plan is important.

But we can overdo it, we
can over plan, spend too

much time working and
fretting over the details

instead of getting on with it.

Recognise that if you've
got roughly 50 to 70% of

the plan shaped out,
you've got enough to go.

Unless you're talking about
incredibly time critical

or risk critical projects,
then just go for it

when you've got a roughly
formed plan and make progress

and ship and shift and
develop it as you go.

So why don't you kick
stress in the sprouts?
