Opening and Closing Ceremonies

In my video "How can I stop my brain from disrupting sleep?I talked about the importance of downloading what's on our minds before trying ti sleep or switch-off.

The reason being that 'stuff' that we leave on our mind will not only have our mind, but then surface as unresolved and more worrisome at times when we are trying to unwind or relax.

In this week's podcast (search Restless Midlifer in your pod feed of choice) I share more thoughts on this but have come to think of that emptying our head process as a 'closing ceremony' for our day. Not an olympic style ceremony with fireworks and such, but a ceremony - or ritual or routine nonetheless and something to treat with respect.

In today's snippet i build on this and talk about the importance of having an opening ceremony too. I explain the benefits and share what it needs to consist of. This practice can help you focus your mind for the day, offload those pesky worries and stresses to an external capture device (like a to do list, diary or journal) and help you get clear and stay clear. #coach #midlifecoach #midlifewomen #midlifemen #weightmanagement #weightloss #weightlossjourney
